All Trucks: Find Covers and Bed Gear for Your Pickup

Bed sizes, fitment notes and every guide I've written for your pickup.

Short answer

To find bed gear that fits your pickup, match three things: your truck’s model year (generation), its bed length, and its factory bed features. Bed lengths run from 4.3 ft on the Hyundai Santa Cruz to about 8 ft on full-size trucks, and redesigns, special tailgates, rail systems and in-bed storage boxes can each require a different version.

Truck bed gear is not one-size-fits-all. A “short bed” on a Ram 1500 is about 67 inches long; on a Toyota Tacoma it’s about 60. A cover built for a 2023 Tacoma won’t necessarily fit a 2024, because Toyota redesigned the bed. And a cover that fits a standard GMC Sierra won’t fit one with the carbon-fiber CarbonPro bed.

That’s why TruckBedFit is organized by truck first. Pick your pickup below to see its bed sizes by model year, the factory features that change what fits, and every guide we’ve written for it: tonneau covers, bed liners, tool boxes, racks and more.

Not sure which bed you have? Our guide to measuring your truck bed takes about five minutes.

How Fit Works: The Three Things to Match

Every product listing for truck bed gear, whether it’s a tonneau cover, a drop-in liner or a crossover tool box, is built around the same three details. Get all three right and the part fits. Miss one and it may not.

1. Model year and generation

Truck makers redesign their pickups every several years, and a redesign can change the bed rails, the tailgate or the bed shape even when the length barely moves. That’s why gear makers often sell separate versions for each generation.

Some examples from the trucks below:

  • Ford F-150: many hard covers use different part numbers for 2015–2020 and 2021–2026 trucks.

  • Toyota Tacoma: the 2024 redesign brought a new bed, so 2016–2023 covers aren’t a safe bet.

  • Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra: some 2019 trucks are the older-body “Legacy” (Chevy) or “Limited” (GMC) models, which take 2014–2018 parts.

2. Bed length

Truck makers name beds with rounded sizes like “5.5 ft”, but the real inside length is usually a little different. Gear makers often use their own labels too: the same F-150 bed is “5.5 ft” to Ford and “5'7"” on many cover listings. Match the closest listed size for your truck and model year rather than chasing an exact inch.

3. Factory bed features

This is where most fitment mistakes happen. Special tailgates, built-in rail systems, carbon-fiber beds and in-bed storage boxes can each need a specific version of a product:

Have an Older Truck?

Older trucks often need different gear, even when the bed length looks the same. We cover these earlier generations too:

  • Best tonneau covers for the 2004–2014 Ford F-150

  • Best tonneau covers for the 2014–2018 Silverado and Sierra (plus 2019 Legacy and Limited)

Driving something newer and less common? We also cover the Rivian R1T, whose bed measures 54 inches with the tailgate up.

What We Cover for Every Truck

Each truck page gathers our guides across every kind of bed gear:

  • Tonneau covers: soft and hard, folding, roll-up and retractable

  • Bed liners and mats: spray-in, drop-in, roll-on kits and rubber mats

  • Tool boxes: crossover, side-mount, chest, drawer systems and boxes that fit under a cover

  • Bed racks: cargo, overland, bike, kayak and ladder racks

  • Bed extenders: hitch-mounted and tailgate extenders for long loads

How We Research Fitment

We don’t install or test products ourselves. Every fitment detail on TruckBedFit comes from three places: truck makers’ official specifications, product makers’ fitment listings and part numbers, and owner reports from truck forums. Bed lengths on this page come from Ford, GM, Ram, Toyota and Rivian spec sheets and dealer specification data. When sources disagree, we say so. Learn more about how we research.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find a tonneau cover or bed accessory that fits my truck?

Match three details on every listing: your truck’s make and model year, its bed length, and any factory bed features. If even one of the three doesn’t match, the part may not fit. Each truck page above lists all three for that truck.

How do I know which bed size my truck has?

Measure the inside of the bed along the floor, from the front wall (the bulkhead) to the inside of the closed tailgate, then match the number to the closest size listed for your truck. Your window sticker or a VIN decoder also shows the factory bed length. Our measuring guide walks you through it in about five minutes.

Does my cab size tell me my bed size?

Not by itself. Many trucks offer two bed lengths with the same cab; a Ford F-150 SuperCrew, for example, comes with a 5.5 ft or 6.5 ft bed. Always measure or check your window sticker.

Why do listings say 5'7" when my truck has a 5.5 ft bed?

Truck makers use rounded names, while gear makers often list beds in feet and inches. A Ford F-150 “5.5 ft” bed measures about 67 inches inside, so many listings call it 5'7". Match the closest size for your truck and model year rather than an exact inch.

Will gear from an older model year fit my truck?

Only if the listing names your model year. Redesigns often change the bed rails, tailgate or bed shape even when the length stays almost the same. The 2024 Toyota Tacoma, for example, has a redesigned bed, and 2019 Silverado Legacy and Sierra Limited trucks take older-generation parts.

Which factory features change what fits?

The most common are special tailgates (Ford Pro Access, GM Multi-Flex and MultiPro, Ram multifunction), built-in rail systems (Toyota Deck Rail, Jeep Trail Rail, Nissan Utili-track), in-bed storage (Ram RamBox, Ridgeline in-bed trunk) and special beds (GMC CarbonPro, Maverick FLEXBED). Many products come in separate versions for these, so check the fitment notes.

Do the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra use the same bed gear?

Usually, for the same years and bed length, because they share a bed. The main exception is the Sierra’s CarbonPro bed, which needs its own versions.

Does a bed liner affect what fits?

A spray-in liner usually doesn’t. With a drop-in liner, check whether it sits under or over the bed rails, because many tonneau covers need an under-rail liner.

Do heavy-duty trucks need different gear?

Yes. Ford Super Duty, Ram 2500/3500 and Silverado/Sierra HD trucks have their own bed sizes, and a fifth-wheel or gooseneck hitch can affect which covers and tool boxes work. Check the hitch notes on the listing before you order.

My truck isn’t listed. What should I do?

Measure your bed with our measuring guide, then check the fitment list on any product listing for your exact make, model year and bed length. We add new trucks as we publish guides for them.
